Marine Corps Marathon 2017

If anyone can appreciate the value of keeping fit all year round it’s the US Marine Corps. The Corps was founded on the principle of being prepared at all times for any contingency and staying fit helps people prepare for all kinds of activities. This is part of the reason we are proud to support the upcoming Marine Corps Marathon 2017.  (The date of the Marathon will be Sunday, October 22, 2017).  However, the marathon is more than about physical fitness. It is also meant to express patriotism and to support family friendly activities which – like keeping fit – should be embraced year round. The start line of the Marathon will be at the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery and the finish line will be at the Marine Corps War Memorial.  And although registration is now closed, you can show up and show your support for the participants.

History of the Marathon

The origin of the event started with Col. Jim Fowler, USMC Ret and over the 2016_Marine_Corps_Marathon_161030-M-UF322-013course of four decades developed into the occasion that thousands participate in today. Fowler’s goal was to promote goodwill for the Corps and to showcase the Marine Corps. Fowler also wanted to encourage recruitment into the Corps. The Marathon’s first participants started in Washington D.C. on Nov. 7, 1976 and the event has grown by leaps and bounds ever since.

Show your pride by attending the Marathon while wearing our Marine Corps products and USMC clothing. We have an assortment of clothing such as T-shirts, hoodies, sweatpants and shorts.
